Representative Experience
- Represented employers in employment discrimination claims, including EEOC investigations and arbitrations.
- Represented new employers and employees against former employers’ claims that the employee was violating non-compete and confidentiality agreements by working for the new employer.
- Counseled employers on FLSA regulations, FMLA compliance, and state and federal wage payment laws.
Professional Activities
Briefing Attorney for the Honorable John S. Anderson, Texas Fourteenth Court of Appeals, 2010-2011.
- As a Briefing Attorney to an appellate court justice, Allison researched and assisted in drafting opinions on a variety of matters, including employment discrimination cases.
- Allison has in-depth knowledge of Texas procedural rules, rules of evidence, and appellate rules, which assists her in representing local clients in the trial and appellate court, as well as serving as local counsel in trial and appellate court matters in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
- Allison has experience in the standards applied to the award of attorneys fees in Texas state court and appellate matters.
- Allison understands that many employers will want to seek summary judgment in order to avoid the time and expense associate with trial. She has unique insight into the drafting of summary judgment motions by virtue of her experience with the Court in its review of such matters on appeal and is very familiar with the standards for obtaining summary judgment and/or dismissal of state law claims, including employment and disability discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, and harassment cases.
Allison worked for publicly and privately held corporations prior to entering law school,  including tenure as a member of an in-house legal department at a large, publicly traded corporation. That experience gives her insight into the needs of employers. She strives to provide cost sensitive, practical information and results to her clients.
